Mississippi Mud Pie

Luscious chocolate layered dessert with a nutty crust layer, a cream cheese layer, a chocolate pudding layer, a whipped topping layer, then sprinkled with chocolate shavings and nuts.

Mississippi Mud Pie

INGREDIENTS
LAYER 1:

  1. 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter melted
  2. 1 1/2 cups UNLBEACHED all-purpose flour bleached flour toughens baked goods
  3. 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

LAYER 2:

  1. 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese softened
  2. 1 cup powdered sugar
  3. 1 cup cool whip or other non-dairy whipped topping (from 16-oz. container)

LAYER 3:

  1. 2 3.9-oz. pkgs. Jello instant chocolate pudding
  2. 3 cups milk

LAYER 4:

  1. remaining Cool Whip or other non-dairy whipped topping (from a 16-oz. container)
  2. Diced nuts and Chocolate curls or shavings for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS
LAYER 1:

  • Combine crust ingredients and press into a greased 9x13" glass baking dish.
  • Bake in 300° oven for 25 minutes.
  • Cool completely!

LAYER 2:

  • Blend until smooth.
  • Spread over cooled crust.

LAYER 3:

  • Mix together until thick.
  • Spread over 2nd layer
