Devilish Chocolate Cake - I read a book called Hellbound, it’s fiction and a wonderful read, I’m not saying this because my sister wrote it, but because I was able to understand the actions of the characters in this book, and thanks to God I did not feel their pain!

Devilish Chocolate Cake Choco Diavolo

Ingredients
THE CAKE
  1. 1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  3. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  4. ½ teaspoon salt
  5. ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  6. 2 cup sugar
  7. 2 large eggs
  8. ¼ cup milk
  9. ¼ cup sour cream
  10. ¼ cup vegetable oil
  11. ¼ cup melted butter
  12. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  13. 1 cup boiling water

THE CHOCOLATE FROSTING
  1. 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  2. ½ cup + 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 6 cup confectioners sugar
  4. 5 tablespoon milk
  5. 2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions
MAKING THE CHOCOLATE CAKE
  • Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Grease and flour three 8” pans and line them with parchment paper.
  • Sift all the dry ingredients together except the sugar. Keep aside.
  • In a bowl, add the butter, oil, sugar, vanilla, and beat for 2 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time and beat until fluffy. Add the milk and sour cream and beat for two minutes.
  • Add the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Pour the boiling water into the batter and mix until you get a smooth batter. (Do not over mix here.)
  • Pour equal amount of the batter into the baking pans and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
  • Cool on a cooling rack while in the pan for 9 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan and place on wire rack to cool completely.
